Unlike hard drives or tape-based media, this optical disc is not vulnerable to damage from magnetic fields. It is write-once, meaning that once data is recorded, it cannot be accidentally erased. To burn M DISC media, you will need an M DISC ready drive. Drives that are M DISC ready will often have the M DISC logo on the drive. Fully backward-compatible optical drives should be able to play M DISC media.
